[Travel] Christmas in Singapore II

Had heavy breakfast at a kopitiam nearby while filling up white immigration cards.

How to go Singapore by bus

1. Go to JB Sentral and take two times escalator to level 1. Take the turn on your left and follow the signboard to Customs/immigration

2. Pass immigration checkpoints using Passport Malaysia/e-passport lane on the left if you are a Malaysian and All passport/others on your right for foreign passport holders.

3. Go straight and take the escalator  to a level below. Turn right and cross the road where buses are parked waiting across. Probably you will see people lining up. Take either Causeway Link (yellow bus) CW1 to Kranji (pay RM1.00) or CW2 to Queen Street or SBS transit 170 to Queen Street also. Both three buses will stop at Woodlands checkpoint to drop passengers so dont worry, can take either one. Remember to keep the tickets.

4. Once reached get down from the bus and take the escalator up, enter the hall on right and follow the lane to All passports. Pass through the custom check and take the escalator down to your right where you will see people lining up according to lanes. Take the same number of bus you had taken earlier in Step 3. No need to pay. If you decided to take another bus of course have to pay la. We took CW1 to Kranji station. As for MRT from Woodlands, dont need to take bus just need to search for MRT sign.

5. Once reach Kranji, get down, walk straight and turn left where you will see an electronic ticketing device you have to scan the card /ticket to get pass through. Tickets could be purchase at the counter or via machines. It is advisable to get EZlink cards from the counter. Trust me, like TouchnGo cards, they are very convenient.

6. Get pass through after scanning, take the escalator up and depending on which line you are heading to take the MRT from respective platform. Their map of line travel is available everywhere, do check for the correct destination and platform before boarding.

What I loved about their public transport MRT is that they are so convenient. You can change stations at interchange according to their transit line and their trains comes in between 3-4 minutes. No waiting. No need to get wet if its raining, walking distance from everywhere! Even better than driving, you need to find carpark and pay. And their carpark costs are very very expensive.

Initially planned to reach by noon and visit first destination- Gardens in the Bay. Guess what? Boyfie forgot the key because we changed our backpacks and hence the travel to and fro. Start end took us half a day. Gardens in the Bay gone. Nvm. We could always come back anytime.

So to avoid the crowd, we went Orchard first. Just get down at Orchard station and your current location-inside ION Orchard, so find your way out from the mall.

The first huge Xmas tree outside ION. I would say one of the most beautiful amongst all.

A little door to enter below the tree and inside bells hooked to a longstring you can sound them.

Spot us.

Another Bvlgari tree inside Takashimaya or ION I think.

Decos along the road.

They are among the prettiest too. Purple, white and pink.

Walk walk till night falls. Even more beautiful with lights.

ION from opposite.

Another pretty one infront of AIX

Decos on trees. Red like CNY.

To fill our tummy, we went to try McD. Indeed, my favourite Quarter Pounder comes with bacon! And boyfie one tastes like char-grilled pork. Portion also bigger. Before midnight, took a sudden decision to Chinatown for supper. Chinatown has some good foods there. And souvenirs. Like those you saw in Jonker Street.

Sea coconut ai yu. Refreshing.

Boyfie's. Lemon lime ai yu.

Of course, nian nian bu wang must go have my smoked pork frankfurter. Visit http://wuerstelstand.blogspot.com/ They came out on paper. Its located around the picture below, walk around and search.

The same place where we had our ai yu..
