[Travel] Christmas in Singapore III

Woke up to a beautiful sun from sis's apartment in Marsiling. Taken siew mai bought from Chinatown to refresh ourself after which we continue our journey.

Managed to camwhore before leaving. Top from DOuble Rocks

Took MRT to Jurong East to exchange for the train to Outram Park and another interchange to HarbourFront. But dont worry, we just need get out, take the escalator down and up again to the line. Sometimes, the interchange is just next to our platform :D Checkout their MRT map

And your current location-ViVocity. Take escalator up to level 3 and turn right to see an entrance to Sentosa Express. Or you might as well go out from the mall and another hotspot location outside Vivocity. Build with wooden floors, its very easy to differentiate. Walk around vivo for restaurants, some even picnic ed there. View of Sentosa Island from across.

A giant tree outside Vivo.

Back to Sentosa Express. By the time we reached, it was about noon, and the queue is so dam long. Boyfie ask me whether we still wanna head to Sentosa as the express train comes in 30 mins. Luckily our persistence got us queued without leaving cause the queue is still moving. Cannot go Sentosa on holiday, sure packed. Hoped onto the express and alight at Waterfront Station. The last station this train stops at Beach Station-thats where Siloso Beach is. Btw, they are having the largest asia new year countdowns on 31st 6pm to 6am O.O party at Siloso Beach. Visit their FB: http://www.facebook.com/SBPofficial or http://ticketing.sentosa.com.sg/SelectEventTicket.action?eventId=12 for tickets. Tickets are selling at $42 for early birds and $52 for later birds.

After got down from express, of course must go and take a picture outside USS.

Our one and only USS photo. Because we are rushing to purchase tickets for entry into the aquarium

Walk around to find the entrance to Maritime Experiential Museum . Thats where the biggest aquarium in the world is located.

Just look athe amount of crowd! boyfie went to queue for tickets (SGD 29 for adult) while I queue for entry into the museum. If you were to queue for tickets first and then queue for entry, that would take hours as the line is from one end to another end doubled. Crazy people

Finally got the tickets. Guess what, they finished selling and the next round is 2-3 hours later, This is dam crazy.

What to expect in the museum:
1. Pirates of the East
2. Bao Chuan show
3. Zheng He exhibit
4. The Souk (Ports of Calls)
5. Jewel of Muscat
6. Typhoon Theatre
7. Maritime Archaeology Gallery
8. The Bakau Wreck

Once enter there is a big ship in the center. Thats where the Bao Chuan show is.

L2R: Pirates of the East: A ship display; the ancient marine map; boyfie testing on a punching scale used to punch their legal 'chop'

The Souk- Visit the 8 ports of call along the maritime trade routes. Be fascinated by the sights, smells, sounds, cultures and the interesting stories about these ports. Along the way, you may find a display from ancient foods (eg:grains) to clothes (sheepskin/muslin) from various countries (India, Phillipines)

Have fun learning more about the maritime trade at the exciting interactive kiosks located along the SOUK and Maritime Archaeology Gallery. The little battleships are moveable. Like monopoly.

There are photos on Zheng He exhibit, Jewel Muscat and Maritime Archaelogy Gallery too, but too many to include here. Visit my FB: http://www.facebook.com/liyee.may

Experience the wrath of the sea in the Typhoon Theatre, a 360-degree multimedia theatre that takes visitors on a voyage on board a 9th-century Chinese junk.  Laden with cargo, the ship runs into a storm. The sea roars, the skies darken and the ship rolls, pitches, turns and finally sinks. At the end, the ship’s passengers find themselves in the depths of the ocean, up close with the shipwreck. Tickets to Typhoon Theatre needs to be purchased separately at a cost of $6 adult, $4 child (4-12 years old), and $3 senior citizen (65 years old and above).

Take the escalator down SEA Aquarium.

Not actually the entrance to SEA Aquarium, but the end of the queue!

A display of some arty potraits before entering. Typhoon Theatre is just nearby

Now this is half of the queue!

Come jor must take a photo to prove that I have been here.

From fishes to sharks crabs and jellyfish, they have everything here with details. Again, too many photos, visit my FB. Top photo shows the moving belt where fishes are only above the view.

They have the Starfish touching session, the see through glass bottom stuffs too! I we spent a few hours in there.

Bakau Shipwreck.

After walking around at souvenir section, we came across this interactive panel where you can design your very own pottery. After designing, can send for bidding and an email would be sent to you.

An upclose of my design. Bet for SGD 49.

Us with our primary design.

Bf went ahead and bid for the second time. How unfair!!

At purchase of the Maritime Experential Museum ticket, you would get another food voucher at SGD5 to spend in any RWS (Resort World Sentosa) restaurants! I dont know when would this offer ends, so hurry up and grab one ! Lunch and dinner also we take Malaysian food at Malaysian Food Street, they have all sorts of famous foods you can find in various states of Malaysia, being too supportive as a Malaysian, dont you think? Haha!

I think this post is way too long, I also wanna write about how to get back to JB from Sg. Gonna end here, if you guys are interested in the transport and guide back to JB Customs, do leave a comment below. Adios!
