• Claims to : retains moisture, creating a lively glow

Pros?

• Amount of essence : Adequate (whole masque completely immersed in essence) with slightly extra where applicable to areas around the neck, hands and leg. Even after 15 minutes, masks stays fit on face
• Application : The material (tencel cellulose) is highly dermotropic which makes application easy. Mask stays cool despite storing in room temperature. Not sure if the material plays any role
• Material : Not thin and size fits asians face (with slight empty area). Would recommend to cut mask into two at nose area to fit better. However, stretchability is rather low
• Absorbency : Medium. Takes some time for full absorption
• Scent : Pleasant. Doesn't smells like strong artificial fragrance but like you have just entered a fresh room
• Proves to : Immediate radiance to the face

Cons?

• Feeling on skin : Leaves the face feeling slightly sticky until essence fully absorbed.

 #4  After 15 minutes, mask stays fit except for a few areas around the mouth and nose started peeling off.

#5  While masking, I applied left over essence on both hands for comparison. Photo on right shows obvious radiance.

#6  Viscosity test - I know I look silly here but for the sake of the test; tissue sticks to the face for awhile which I dont particularly favor.

#7  Lemon.

• Scent : Pleasant. Smells like light lemon freshener
• Lighter compared to Acai Berry and not so sticky
• Proves to : Skin became more transparent

Usage steps?

• With a cleanse face, remove residues with a toner. Take out mask, unfold and place on face for 15 to 20 minutes
• Remove mask and gently pat on the skin to facilitate absorption of remaining essence

Would recommend lemon mask more than acai berry. Of course to achieve the long term effect requires more than one application :)

My therapy was performed at Aster Spring Centre in Seremban. Prior appointment ensures availability which caters to busy working individuals. Upon arrival at the centre, I was greeted by friendly smiles and warm welcomes. Tea was served as as a therapist, Nana attended to me for a personal consultation to determine my skin type, problems, concerns and the lifestyle I am leading for record purposes. The therapist then pointed out problems of my skin with the help of a mirror before advising on treatments that best suits to treat the current condition of my skin. Nana even explained on what she will do during the treatment and what will you experience during the treatment.

I was then lead to a clean room and changed into a robe. The room was equipped with a bed, a locked wardrobe to keep your personal belongings, products to be used during the therapy session and a device to perform steaming water droplets and ultrasonic beams.

After lying down, Nana started a conversation asking if I felt comfortable with the temperature. Filled with light aroma of flowers and soothing music, the room felt pleasant and ease. Nana then performed the first cleansing with a gel like formula for makeup removal and a second cleansing with exfoliating scrubs filled with oatmeals that she says is to lift and hydrates the skin. A nozzle attached to the mirror sprays very fine heated water steam to open pores. The therapy proceeds with extraction (which are feared by most if done under unprofessional hands). As my pain resistance is low, I requested for a light extraction and Nana says she will do her best. To ease discomfort, the extraction process was rather fast. She claimed to have cleaned 70% of my blemishes and blackheads only so as not to burden my sensitive skin as we have to undergo a heating massage later. 


My skin is oily underneath the dermis layer and dry at the surface. Did you know that actively producing sebum cells could result in an oil bump and form a new skin cell above if left untreated. Extraction helps to clear these oil bumps besides clearing clogged skin of dirts and dust. 


Nana then applied a serum concentrated with skin lifting actives, anti ageing peptides and plant botanicals that is the main product in this therapy with lifting and firming properties so as to provide a better glide surface for massage. She then took out a portable face lifting device using patented Sono LDM technology with infrared lights to perform rotations on the face. This device is designed to work on slacking skin contour resulting from aging and helps in deeper absorption of the serum applied earlier. Vibration-less but with a bearable amount of heat, this motion is suppose to accelerate collagen production, improve skin's elasticity and firmness. The whole application was smooth and comfortable with minimal sensation compared to those more aggressive, low frequency sound waves and lasers. This is followed by Aster Spring Touch - a sequence of European massage techniques to the shoulders with light drainage, lymph activation, deep relaxation de-stress and balancing senses. The 1 hour 45 minutes therapy ends with an application of radiance masque to soothe, cool, stabilize and restore instant skin suppleness.

#10  TL was very generous in having us Chicken Rossa Penne for dinner. The pasta was accompanied with grilled chicken, smoked bacon, spinach and wild mushrooms tossed with garlic tomato cream sauce. Very creamy indeed but the portion is way too big >.<

[Skincare] Cellnique treatment review

This is a post continuum from my Cellnique skincare review
This time, I am going to talk about their treatments, yes, they provide facial treatments.

Till now, I have only tried Intensive Moisturizing Treatment and Skin Renewal treatment. Intensive Moisturizing treats normal skin while Skin Renewal is more targeted to skin problems. Since I dont have problematic skin( mine is oily/combination, enlarged pores, blackheads and dry) so I dont need those reversal or anti aging ones. Bear in mind that your skin might differ from mine so its better to take consultation advice from them which treatment suits you best.
I tried on intensive moisturizing to treat dry areas around my cheeks. Beauticians helps you remove your makeup and sunblock first and then cleanse your face. They explain every steps and products applied on you. After cleansing, toner is sprayed and pat dry. After which the pineapple masque or I call it the scrub application. Smells fruity like pineapple with small fine beads for gentle exfoliation. Almost all other treatments begins with a pineapple step. Then wash off, toner and another concentrate moisturizing serum where she applied ultrasound for effective absorption (so cooling and relaxing cause it was cold). I managed to snooze for a while. Hee :D Then,  the part I dreaded the most- extraction. T__T die die also must bear the pain while trying hard not to make any noise. In extraction step, beauticians uses the extractor to push out any zits if you have acnes, or simply to pluck out any whiteheads/blackheads. Depending on how serious your skin condition is, this may last up to an hour. Proceeding is the algae masque, for soothing the swollen face and reduce the redness. Next up to the treatment you chose, appropriate masque follows. For example, in intensive moisturizing, a moisture masque is applied.
Plus, they gave a real good neck and back massage that makes the pampering session even more enjoyable. We chatted throughout the facial session and she was kind enough to clear my doubts and gave  useful advice and tips on how to take care of my skin.  Most of the time I closed my eyes and enjoyd this treatment,so not much photos was taken. Coming to the end of the treatment, they added another layer of hydrating and brightening serum together with moisturiser, toner and sunblock.   Their cleansing and toning series.
The ultrasonic equipment, not those we use in lab har.. Cellnique Intensive Moisturizing Treatment is able to replenish the water content and slow down the skin water loss, by working on both the Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF) and the Water Retention Factor (WRF). The masque (Intensive Moisturizing Masque) applied in this treatment helps rehydrate, repair and soften the skin while the serum (Concentrate Moisturizing) provides immediate moisture. The main active ingredients involved includes:  1.  8 amino acid (Serine + glycine + Glutamic acid + Alanine + Lysine + Arginine + Thereonine + L-Proline). amino acids combine with epidermal cells to fill increases, resulting in smoother skin appearance. In deeper layers of the epidermis, amino acids stimulate the build-up of collagen, reduce lines and wrinkles and maintain the continued elasticity of skin. 2. Sodium PCA. It helps retains water and increases the capacity of skin to hold moisture. 3. The most heard of ingredients in locking moisture-Hyaluronic acid. This powerful water binding agent able to absorb and hold water up to 1,000 times which keep skin moist and smooth, giving the skin a youthful appearance. 4. Acerola fruit extract. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, helps in increasing collagen synthesis which not only aids in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but also helps in the restoring of skin natural radiance. Benefits: Result in smoother, youthful skin appearance Increase the capacity of the skin to hold moisture Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles Restore skin natural radiance
My experience with the results: My skin did become smoother and radiated immediately after the treatment, however, they return to normal after a few days later.
Managed to have a baby soft skin and that 'doink doink' feel you know? Hehe Since I am still considered ''young' aiya, not yet reach mid-20s ma.. I dont have any wrinkles and fine lines yet, so reducing fine lines and wrinkles are not observable on me. However, did have dramatic results in smaller pores (which leads to smoother skin), reduced blackheads and whiteheads
Face might get a little red and swollen because of the extraction but dont worry, they reside in the same day :D Since my skin is like so good before this, so I thought no need go facial every month la, too costly for a student like me. SO I have skipped facials like for half a year before I decided to go for one again. (To ask these experts to cure the serious breakout problems on my forehead). This is like the most serious acnes I have I have never experienced one so terrible like this. This time they say I cannot do the Moisturizing Treatment already (not cannot la, but I need to treat my problem first, then only improve ma) so they recommended me to try the Skin Renewal Treatment. Cellnique’s signature AHA treatment which works to exfoliate accumulation of dead skin cells, unclog pores, improve circulation and aid in the natural process of skin cell regeneration. Process is same like for Moisturizing Treatment described above-cleansing, toning and application of serum/masques. This time, we have like three treatment feature which are: Skin Renewal Gel Complex (Helps reduce wrinkles, impacts on the dermis to aid in the renewal); AHA Neutralizer (Prohibits further peeling action and helps protect against the reproduction of micro organism) and Special Desincristation Lotion (dissolves sebaceous material such as blackheads, pimples and all other types of clogged pores).  Main active ingredients includes: 1. AHA + BHA. Acts as a gentle exfoliant which remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and clogged pores. It also helps re-texture the skin, stimulate cell renewal and works as a natural skin brightener and softener. 2. Chamomile extract + Essential fatty acid + Vitamin E + Lavender extract + Grape seed + Allantoin\ Excellent soothing and repairing properties help reduce redness, soothe and anti sensitizing, repair cell membrane and strengthen intercellular lipid layers and replenish and revitalize skin with various vitamins 3. Red algae extract. Improve skin hydration, tone and smoothness. 4. Ascorbic acid. Assists in promoting a firmer skin texture while providing sustained antioxidant protection for the skin. 5.  Peppermint oil. anti inflammatory and soothing effects. It imparts a cooling sensation and minty scent, providing the skin with clean and refreshing feel. Benefits: Stimulate cell renewal for a healthier skin layer Natural skin brightener and softener Anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, anti microbial Re-texture the skin My experience with the results: Breakouts did improve a little. However, I came out of the saloon looking like a red bomb because of the redness after the extraction. Even after the application of the algae masque. But after a few days, the redness resides and no difference in the acnes. They told me it may have reduced and grow at another side. The beauticians says I have to be very hardworking to go and clear my heads and zits, as my forehead keep producing sebum/oils and clogging my pores. Its like residing and growing at the same time. Thats before I decided to change my whole skincare products. After I have changed the skincare range to Cellnique products, my skin condition gets better, and the acnes stops growing, so I presume the leftover are the scars.  The other areas of the skin improved, more elasticity and better hydration. And I have finally found out who is that culprit that causes the breakouts on my forehead after discontinue using them. Sadly, those are quite well known brands. What I am curious about is that, they wont grow acnes in the first half bottle of application, when I start to dry these bottles up, they appeared. And when acnes grows, continous application only worsens the problem. Take quite a whole lot time to recover. So dont wait for the problems to turn worse, consult ur therapist as soon as symptoms appears. So the lifesaver of my acnes are: 1. stop using products that worsens them 2. use Purifying Masque every night (they help control sebum production, the areas feels not oily after you woke up). Thanks muchie to one beauty guru on YT she made a video stating the worst used products (because they made her breakout halfway too) and coincidentally one of the series I am using. And also thank Cellnique therapist Lily for recommending this masque to me. I am so happy with the results! Generally, my advice dont purchase without trying. Always ask for samples and if you are confident with the results only continue using. Mine special condition cause I already used up half a bottle only acnes starts appearing. Finally a blogpost other than food. Hehe. I am going to talk about my experience with Cellnique team. As this is also my first time having facial treatment, I am afraid I cant compare much but still for those who wanted to try a on a new treatment team or intended on doing research of some skincare brands, hopefully this post could help you guys..

My first experience with Cellnique started with my eagerness on experiencing a facial treatment. I have heard and is very particular about the brand name as I always confuses with Clinique products available at Watsons and Guardians. However, later I realize they are not the same! Clinique does not have a beauty salon providing treatments. And since Cres Wellness store is available at a distance from my home, so thats how I came up with the decision. I tried out on their Intensive Moisturizing Treatment on my first visit as the treatment is on promotion period for RM 115 instead of the usual RM168. And Lily, the beauty consultant attended to me. Still remember I even ask her did I have to undress because she just placed the bathing suit? on the chair. So embarassing. Meh. 

Before the team did any treatments to you, they will first examine the condition of your skin and give advices on which treatment best suits you. Mind me, thats professional advice. Mine is a combination skin, oily on T-zone. And I have problems of large pores that time. However, I did not see any visible results after the first treatment, other than smaller pores and finer skin. Maybe that needs a little bit of time and continuous persistent visit? We will see. But one thing that captivates me most is the visible clearing of blackheads and whiteheads. No more white and black hairs on nose. Nah and thats what Cellnique is famous for. Clearing whiteheads and blackheads, you will see on one product after reading. Thats also the first product I purchased from them.

Let me first begin with their products. Decided to change my whole skincare regime due to the serious breakouts on my forehead.

Products am going to talk about. Left out the Velvety Veil lotion and purifying mask cause I took this in Seremban home.

So basically I just start with updated skincare regime also lah. The sequence always goes-cleanse-tone-serum-moisturizers-sunblock. So, the first thing just wash my face with cleanser. Cleansing is one of the important step in any regime cause it removes any impurities and dirts from face, we all want a clean face right? Normally at night I will cleanse two times; one with cleansing milk to remove makeup and sunblock residues and another with a normal cleanser. Makeup removal is a must! Most people will neglect this step (lazy mah) but ask any beauty consultant, all will insist on removing makeup. There are a varieties of makeup removers in the market, will blog about it in another separate post. I do not have any particular must have cleanser because I can go with any brand and as long as it cleanses my face properly without drying it, consider okay lah for me. Then the second step-applying toner. Also no particular brand of toner. Do you guys want a separate post on drug store products? Next-serum. Starting with eye serum, I am using Genifique's youth activating eye concentrate/Clarins serum super lift. Then continue with Cellnique's sebum gel.

Their known blackhead and whitehead Skin Action Sebum Gel. (RM159) Frankly speaking, really best product. It claims to clear in 10 pain free days. For those who visit beauty salons frequently, there is an extraction step right? That one was painful. Although able to clear most of the heads, but not all la. Still using the metal thing to pluck on pimples and heads is better to remove all, but this gel can get rid some for you and make them easier to come out during the next extraction. The photo on right shows comparison of the new and old bottle. Same amount of content, I took for fun LOL

The gel is a clear type with some cooling effects. Meant to be applied on T-zone and nose areas where heads are possible. Can help excessive sebum production which indirectly prevents pimples from growing also la. Is it comparable with blemish gel?

 Then, can continue with other serum regimes, be it hydrating, whitening, anti-aging etc. In the morning, I would use Shiseido Brightening Emulsion/Clarins White Plus Whitening Velvet Emulsion. But at night will continue with hydrating serum and moisturizing cream instead of the emulsion. Cause the emulsion contains spf, not recommended for night use.

Intensive hydrating complex. Retails at RM189. high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid and Essential Amino Acids. Helps bind moisture to restore elasticity of the skin, thereby minimizes the appearance of wrinkles. It is a colourless, thick, sticky fluid type. Now, when I mention sticky (eew, I know most of you dont like sticky), but trust me, the fluid absorbs fast into the skin and leaves no sticky feeling after a generous second. 

I dono if you guys can see, its sticky.

D'sensi Calming and Hydrating cream. You will need cream to lock in moisture. It is better than Intensive Hydrating cause this calms sensitive skin besides providing moisture. So price of one for two?

The texture: Rich cream in white milky colour. I prefer to use the word milky gel because it really feels like gel rather than cream. Comfortable, lightweight, fast absorbing and do not feel sticky on skin, leaving a soft and smooth finish.

 Both serums and creams could be used in the day too, because does not contain spf. But since my Shiseido one havent finish so continue use lah.. After that-finish with sunblock (for day) or masque (night).

Total Daytime Protection SPF30. (RM159)With green tea and grape seed extract. Although my Shiseido have SPF 15 already, but 15 is for indoor and if you are travelling outdoor, you will need at least 30. Sunblock is also a must, no matter its raining ot hot outside.

What I love about their sunblock is that it does not leave skin feeling oily after application unlike those sunblocks you apply before swimming. Eg: Coppertone? And it have a pleasent smell too. May bring about a whiter complexion, I suppose all sunblocks did that? Some even have skin color for coverage purposes.

Night routine: Before sleep, apply Intensive Hydrating Overnight Masque. I would normally apply this on alternate days, so that I can wake up with plumper and brightened skin. I personally dont like masques that leave me very sticky to bed cause it might stain my pillow. Although this masque is a lil sticky(very minimal) or you wont find it sticky under air conditioned room, the stickyness is bearable. For those who cant accept of a single feeling of stickyness, can go wash off after leaving for a 3-4 hours.

I am surprised the colour comes out milky white despite it being nude in the case. Will compare it to my Laneige and Neutrogena after testing for a period of time.

Because of the recent breakout on my forehead, I am using something extra-Skin Purifying Masque only on my forehead. You guys can skip this if dont have acne problems.

Skin Purifying Masque. Retails at RM139, it is specially designed for clogged pores, congested or acne prone skin. This masque helps absorb impurities, minimize breakouts and reduce excessive sebum, promoting a clear and healthy complexion.

A thick light green gel with antiseptic, antimicrobial properties to accelerate healing of acne. It may be leaved overnight or wipe off with wet cotton pad and after with dry towel after a few hours. Since it may be a lil dry, Intensive Hydrating Overnight Masque may be used on top of it, provided that it is leaved in for 20 minutes. I have tried this for a couple of days, and indeed my acne bumps have succeeded. Will continue to use it and update you guys.

Their Christmas promotion set, Magical Bliss at RM 248 instead of RM318. The set consists of Intensive Hydrating Overnight Masque retailed at RM139 and D'sensi Calming and Hydrating Cream retailed at RM179. So faster go grab before the offer runs out!

Super love their cover casing. It doubles up as mirror! Simple elegant design.

Finishes off with a body product after shower as the skin absorbs the fastest. Body plush velvety veil. Retails at RM69. But I got it for free during promotion last time when I purchase their treatment. The lotion delivers what it says on its label. It leaves my skin feeling extra smooth and soft. For those who prefer cheaper one, can try Nivea/Vaseline. But if high end, I recommend this loh. Comes with some citrusy smell.
