The origin of Aster Spring?
Previously known as Leonard Drake, Aster Spring made its debut at Imbi Plaza, Kuala Lumpur in 1984 with its first flagship store in Bangsar Shopping Centre in 1992. Six years later Leonard Drake expanded to Penang and Johore before evolving into skin health management expert, Aster Spring. To celebrate its 30th year anniversary, I was cordially invited to try their signature V-Lift facial therapy. This therapy claims to lift, tighten and tone skin in the non-surgical way. It helps to tackle sagging skin caused by natural ageing process, triggered by hormonal and biochemical reactions in our body. Using the patented Ionto-Sono® technology from Germany to accelerate collagen production, this therapy strengthens weak connective tissue to lift and firm skin from 'U' to 'V' in just three sessions.
My therapy was performed at Aster Spring Centre in Seremban. Prior appointment ensures availability which caters to busy working individuals. Upon arrival at the centre, I was greeted by friendly smiles and warm welcomes. Tea was served as as a therapist, Nana attended to me for a personal consultation to determine my skin type, problems, concerns and the lifestyle I am leading for record purposes. The therapist then pointed out problems of my skin with the help of a mirror before advising on treatments that best suits to treat the current condition of my skin. Nana even explained on what she will do during the treatment and what will you experience during the treatment.

I was then lead to a clean room and changed into a robe. The room was equipped with a bed, a locked wardrobe to keep your personal belongings, products to be used during the therapy session and a device to perform steaming water droplets and ultrasonic beams.

After lying down, Nana started a conversation asking if I felt comfortable with the temperature. Filled with light aroma of flowers and soothing music, the room felt pleasant and ease. Nana then performed the first cleansing with a gel like formula for makeup removal and a second cleansing with exfoliating scrubs filled with oatmeals that she says is to lift and hydrates the skin. A nozzle attached to the mirror sprays very fine heated water steam to open pores. The therapy proceeds with extraction (which are feared by most if done under unprofessional hands). As my pain resistance is low, I requested for a light extraction and Nana says she will do her best. To ease discomfort, the extraction process was rather fast. She claimed to have cleaned 70% of my blemishes and blackheads only so as not to burden my sensitive skin as we have to undergo a heating massage later.
My skin is oily underneath the dermis layer and dry at the surface. Did you know that actively producing sebum cells could result in an oil bump and form a new skin cell above if left untreated. Extraction helps to clear these oil bumps besides clearing clogged skin of dirts and dust.
Nana then applied a serum concentrated with skin lifting actives, anti ageing peptides and plant botanicals that is the main product in this therapy with lifting and firming properties so as to provide a better glide surface for massage. She then took out a portable face lifting device using patented Sono LDM technology with infrared lights to perform rotations on the face. This device is designed to work on slacking skin contour resulting from aging and helps in deeper absorption of the serum applied earlier. Vibration-less but with a bearable amount of heat, this motion is suppose to accelerate collagen production, improve skin's elasticity and firmness. The whole application was smooth and comfortable with minimal sensation compared to those more aggressive, low frequency sound waves and lasers. This is followed by Aster Spring Touch - a sequence of European massage techniques to the shoulders with light drainage, lymph activation, deep relaxation de-stress and balancing senses. The 1 hour 45 minutes therapy ends with an application of radiance masque to soothe, cool, stabilize and restore instant skin suppleness.
